Building Students’ Confidence with YouTube Video Quizzes
Published on 30 Jan, 2026
If you are a teacher using YouTube videos in your class, Kung Fu Quiz is a must-have tool. Its easy, it’s fun, and most importantly, it's effective.
I am a committed teacher and student advocate with a strong focus on academic mentoring and language learning. I recently worked at Islington College as a General English Paper Mentor, where I planned classroom activities to boost students' self-esteem and help them understand complex academic concepts. My teaching approach is grounded in targeted guidance, ensuring every student feels encouraged in their classroom journey.
Using Kung Fu Quiz to Enhance Engagement
In my A Level EGP classes, I often use YouTube videos during lessons. Using Kung Fu Quiz has honestly been really helpful as it has allowed me to embed quizzes into the videos. This platform has made it easier to keep my students engaged, especially those with shorter attention spans.
What I really appreciate is how simple and easy Kung Fu Quiz is to use, both for me and for my students.
Building Confidence Through Fun Learning
As a mentor, I primarily focus on helping students gain confidence. I celebrate even the smallest wins, be it through merit based reward or even a small sweet treat. Keeping them motivated, acknowledging their progress and pushing them to believe in their abilities is what builds my students’ confidence.
And in my opinion, moving farther from dry lectures and towards active engagement is the best way students can benefit from your teaching as well. Whether it is for learning a new language, or understanding complex topics, students become the most attentive when we use interactive digital tools. And since Kung Fu Quiz does just that by making even a simple lecture video fun by turning it into a quiz, it has been ideal to engage my students.
The best part? It enabled my students to take on challenging topics without worrying about making blunders in the face of the entire class. Even the small elements like the cute music before starting the quiz and at the end of the quizzes help create a positive atmosphere in the classroom.
Reflecting on Classroom Impact
I observed how much better children learnt when they were genuinely enjoying the process. This platform fosters healthy engagement and teamwork in the classroom by bringing that same enthusiasm. Students are involved, energetic, and enjoying themselves while learning, which helps the lessons stick.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Kung Fu Quiz to teachers working with lower secondary, secondary, or even higher-level students. It has made my classes easier to manage, and I hope it helps other teachers the same way it has helped me.
